The City of White Plains is conducting a feasibility study and implementation plan for a brand new Inter/Multigenerational Community Center! The Center is proposed to be a centralized, year-round indoor facility that will serve residents of all ages. This facility will provide flexible, accessible space for recreation, education, and community programming.
Currently, public programming is spread across limited spaces such as the Recreation and Parks Department buildings at 85 Gedney Way, the Community Center at 65 Mitchell Place, and the Eastview Middle School Campus. However, these locations face significant capacity constraints and are not designed to accommodate the full range of intergenerational needs.
The proposed Community Center will serve as a welcoming, central hub that promotes connection, wellness, and lifelong engagement for children, teens, adults, and seniors alike. |
