Greetings RRA Residents,

At this year’s annual meeting we will hold elections for two Executive Board positions (RRA President and RRA Treasurer) and at least 1-2 Board positions.  We would like to thank Mike Sanchez who served on the Executive Board as Vice President since 2018 and RRA President since 2020.  We would also like to thank Nicoy Spence who was the Vice President in 2020 and has been the RRA Treasurer since May 2021.

The RRA is looking for new leadership to help continue the growth and progress that has been made over the past several years.  We need to continue growing our RRA membership and encourage participation in community advocacy and social events that bring our neighborhood together.  Without the hard work of volunteer residents like those on our board, the RRA will not have a voice in our city government and will face unchecked changes to the safety and character of the exceptional neighborhood that is Rosedale.  We will also lack the volunteers to continue fun events like our annual SeptemberFest BBQ that has become the premier event that brings our community together with our elected officials and first responders.

Candidates who are interested in running for RRA President and Treasurer should see the below responsibilities for both positions:

Responsibility of the President:
-Represents the RRA at Common Council Meeting when required to advocate for the neighborhood
-Attends Council of Neighborhood Association (CNA) meetings once a month.  Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of every month, except July and August.
-Comes up with agendas for the January Executive Board meeting and the agenda/guest speaker for the annual board meeting in May.
-Liaisons between elected officials, appointed officials, RRA board, CNA, and RRA residents.

Presidential Responsibilities that can be delegated to other board members or residents:
-Attendance at CNA Meetings
-Maintenance of the RRA Website
-E-Blast communication and Nextdoor presence.
-The Annual SeptemberFest BBQ

Responsibilities of the Treasurer:
– Keeps a record of the financial transactions of the association.
-Collects dues and other funds and make disbursements subject to the approval of the Executive Board.
-Keeps records of all dues paid by household, and all related disbursements.
-Shall perform such other duties as are usual to the office, such as financial updates at the January and May meetings, or upon request by the Executive Board.
– Needs to be an active member of the SeptemberFest Committee
